Project: Food Journaling App Design
Role: End-to-end Product Designer (Research, UX, UI)
Team: Solo Project
Tools: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
Problem
People take photos of food to remember meals, reflect on taste, and share recommendations, but these photos often get lost in the camera roll. Existing tools are too tedious, disorganized, or feel too performative to support meaningful and personal food journaling.
Key Pain Points:
• Food photos are taken and then get buried in the photos app
• Journaling is tedious and time-consuming
• No easy way to combine photos, memories, and notes in one spot
• Sharing food recommendations is tedious and disorganized

Goal:
Design an app that gives a new purpose to forgotten food photos by helping users easily organize them into a journal and attach personal notes.

Research
I began my research process by observing different social media apps that are currently on the market. I asked myself, "What do some of these apps do well, and what are some things that keep me from wanting to use them to solve this specific problem?"
